The three above videos are her works, and it’s very meaningful. Simple but it’s more than meet the eyes. I love it.

Caiyun' quotes.

Well, I’m posting a response to Caiyun’s entry which can be found here. Or you can visit her blog here.

Life. Look, I can do my project now, or I can leave it to a closer deadline (which is this coming Tuesday). Here comes the challenge.

Everybody, I know it’s right I complete my projects earlier, I know I should start work now. Let’s put the sense aside now. I want to know, what if I choose NOT to start on my project today? I wonder where life will bring me to.

Yesterday till today, I am very inspired to open a shop for people to call it a second home. I want to make it so that people can just drop by and chill…*dreaming starts – now!*

The place is not bigger than your living room, with a rectangle table near to the inside of the shop (3 seater on each side, 2 at the width), glass windows with Winkplay stickers, on the wall too. Nearer to the entrance/ exit of the shop, a square table with 4 bean bags as seats (maybe 2 tables and 8 bean bags), people drop by and chill, I would ask them if they want milo or coffee.

Make a few cups and bring it to them. They will then choose one of the few board games at the nearby shelves. And started playing. A few minutes later, some teens drop by to use the rectangle tables to do their homework and 2 of them started to use the machineries like (Big Shot or computer to print stuff or Carl Paper Cutter) to do some art stuff.

At the corner is a badge making machine. Cans similar to donation cans will be placed nearby so that people can pay whatever amount they deem fit for the usage of the equipment and tables and aircon. Still, printing of paper and maybe the coffee/ milo and badges will have a fixed price.

Then a lady would come in and I would kindly remind the people that is inside that a tuition class will start in 5 minutes’ time. Such schedules will be stuck on the glass windows so people would know when they can drop by. A food bar, flat screen TV would complete it all.

Daydreaming huh? Caiyun, I’m dragged into it too. Hehe. Well, as life goes on, I hope that the above will happen. I want to run that little shop with Peiling. Exposing more people to Art.

More of a – art blog.

Well, I’m slightly more active on the Art side now, since I think creativity since I don’t have much skills in anything else. I am not skilled in anyway, like watercolour like Lyn, or collage work like Richard, or origami like Rita, or drawing and design like Peiling, or photography like many out there.

So, what I can do is to use more of my creativity on simple tasks, like we all know, ‘Cut and Paste’ or ‘Copy and Paste’ like the shortcuts on our machines. I will focus more on what I am doing, and hopefully I will still post my ‘think’ entries.

I seriously need a compact camera, I don’t want to use my cameraphone’s one. But for now, I’ll settle for it. Will post my creations @ KBCC, ATC, and some randomness. More to come. Later today.

We can choose – not to choose.

July 22, 2009 at 10:10 pm | In Blogs | Leave a Comment

I don’t have any choices left, most of it controlled by people, if not nature. I asked for something, I get rejected, so I looked for another way around, and asked again, and get rejected again.

Not debating about who is to choose if choices are accepted or what problems am I facing. I will post a scenario for some thinking to happen.

Someone asked if you would want an apple. Well, on the outside, it just means if you want an apple.

First, you would think of yourself, am I hungry? You figured that it wouldn’t hurt to have an apple.

Next, you would think about your own image, will I look bad taking it? Will I owe this person a favour? Did I do this person a favour? Am I looking hungry?

Looking deeper, assuming that there is no poison, there’s this thing that might attract your attention. Who is that person giving you the apple? Let’s say a girl, there’s only two sides to any people you know. Either you like them, or not.

Like – You like that person, and your favourite person is giving you a choice to have an apple. You’re surely glad to have it. And another question pops out.

Don’t like – You don’t like that person, and there is this thing about acting neutral. You would have ignored her under normal circumstances. But she asked you politely, you are thinking that it wouldn’t hurt saying yes.

No matter the person giving you the choice, the next question is a very short and deep one.

“why?”

We question good intentions especially, why did the person you like/ dislike give you an apple? Is it an extra apple? Is it from someone else? Even, is it poisoned? Is it specially for me?

Assuming you know the origins of the apple, the next question pops out! It’s the ‘Why the hell, me?’ Now, its still the intentions of that person (no matter hate or not), does she likes me? Does she hates me? Did she want to kill me? Is it a prank for fun?

So, in the end, you say;

Yes! – You get the apple.

No! – You didn’t get the apple.

Now, has it ever occur to you that you can choose not to choose. Do you want an apple? People would usually expect a yes or a no, but what will happen if you say, ‘Umm… I won’t choose’ or ‘I choose…not to choose.’

It’s for you to find out.

This time, you are one offering the apple, no matter yes or no is the answer, has it ever occur to you that you can reject his/ her answer?

‘Yes, I want it!’

‘I’ve just changed my mind’ or ‘Too late’.

‘No, I don’t want’

‘I’ve made a decision to make this apple yours’ or ‘I’ve chosen a yes for you.’

It’s for you to find out too. Let me warn you first though, people don’t like to be challenged. Bending the rules of answering will required a price which I don’t know. All the best.

Think Smart by Richard Restak

I’ve even memorised the library code for the book, 612.28. The first contact with the book was in Lee Kong Chian Reference Library. I read 29 pages of the book.

Next I went to the Public Lending Library, which is also in National Library. Although it’s not on loan, the book is nowhere to be found.

So, off I went to the Bishan Library and found it. Took it and loaned it on the spot. I went to Harbourfront and read all the way there. Stop at a little corner and read a bit more, then read on the way back home.

I strongly recommend this book to thinkers, or not. As long as you want to use your brains MORE efficiently, you should read it. Full of facts and guides to prevent all sorts of brain diseases.

Learning actually takes place when you sleep you know? The smarter ones are usually the ones who sleeps more. You absorb information in the day, and at night, your mind imprints them into your brain through neurons. Mapping new routes and forming new extensions.

And dreams, as the brain playback (so as to imprint them), daily experiences tend to playback as well. Therefore dreams.

Each forte of anyone is actually detectable in a PET (I have no idea what it is other than it’s a brain scan). Different parts of your brain develops as you develop in specific areas. For example, a pianist as an audience in a piano concert will stimulate certain parts of the brain linked to the audience pianist fingers as he/ she listens.

The following is a quote from a book ‘The body has a mind of its own’.

Your self does not end where your flesh ends, but suffuses and blends with the world, including other beings. Moreover this annexed personal space is not static. It is elastic. It morphs every time you put on or take off your clothes, wear skis or scuba gear, or wield and tool. When you eat with a knife or fork, your peripersonal space grows to envelop them. Brain cells that normally represent space no farther out than your fingertips expand their fields of awareness along the length of each utensil, making them part of you.

Simply love the abstract above. We’re more than meets the eye! Woohoo! I can foretell that I will read this book a few times, which I should be doing to school related books as well but I didn’t.

Today’s been quite a fruitful day, finally got my mySQL and phpAdmin and Apache running. Means I will be more motivated to finish my project. (note, ‘more’).

Well, in a flash, I see darkness in front of me. I can hear and I know my eyes are working fine. And suddenly, the darkness vanish as fast as it appeared.

All these are not strange or unfamiliar, it happens all the time, I believe to you guys reading this too. It serves a simple purpose, but showed us how fast we can be too!

Don’t we all blink? The darkness left before it came. Cool huh? Nothing much to post, just making ATCs and more ATCs, can’t wait to submit my cards for exhibition. Haha.

1 2 photo+s.
